I had the pleasure of visiting the Grand Canal Retirement Residence to kick off an upcoming carp fishing session happening right behind their building. Through stories, photos, and a relaxed presentation, I shared how fishing offers more than just catching. It brings calm, connection, and conversation.
Residents were invited to join us on the bank next week to enjoy the outdoors, watch the rods, share memories, and maybe even try a simple bobber setup. I also touched on the idea of social prescribing and how time spent in nature and with others can be good for the soul.
Excited to return next week and see who comes out to enjoy the day by the water.
